Four people, including three boys, were killed in a road accident involving a mixer truck in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Based on investigation, the truck came from Sitio Balutakay in Barangay Managa and was traveling downhill when it reportedly swerved into the opposite lane and crashed into the road shoulder upon reaching Sitio Balagunon.

Because of the impact, the truck overturned and hit the three boys – nine, 10, and 12 years old – who were walking by the road.

The 39-year-old driver got stuck in his seat and his helper was injured.

They were all brought to the hospital but the driver and the three boys were declared dead on arrival.

The driver’s helper reportedly told authorities that he had informed the driver that there was a problem with the truck’s brakes.

GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the driver’s helper and the families of those who died for a statement, as of this writing.

Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man died on the spot after he was hit by a wing van truck in Barangay Acacia, Davao City.

Based on investigation, the wing van truck reportedly lost its brakes while navigating a curved portion of the road until it hit the man who was standing outside his house.

The 27-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was taken into police custody.
