A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Dagupan City, Pangasinan after authorities seized from him suspected shabu worth more than P1.3 million during a buy-bust operation midnight on Monday, September 1, 2025.

The minor, classified by the police as a high-value individual (HVI) in the drug watchlist, was arrested in Barangay Tambac by the Dagupan City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1.

“Through validation, yun nga po napatunayan natin na involved ito and before that may test buy po tayo and talaga pong nagbebenta po siya,” PLtCol. Lawrence Keith Calub, officer-in-charge of Dagupan City Police Station, said.

Authorities said they confiscated 185 grams of shabu with a street value of about P1,258,000. They also recovered P180,000 in boodle money used during the operation.

The suspect underwent a drug test, which turned out negative. He is now under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, as required for minors in conflict with the law.

Calub said the arrest is part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

“Sa kampanya po natin sa iligal na droga, gaya ng lagi kong sinasabi, no hands up tayo rito. So, mas lalo pa nating paiigtingin kasi ang gusto natin, yung mga source mismo ang mahuli natin,” he said.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared against the boy.
