A man who reportedly jumped off ship bound for Tagbilaran City in Bohol from Cebu was rescued.
In a video taken by Ramil Ayuman, a government official in Cebu City, who was on board a fast craft that stopped to assist in a “man overboard” situation, the man was seen floating in the waters off Bohol afternoon on September 1, 2025.
Rescuers reportedly had a hard time because the man refused to hold on to the life ring hurled at him.
The video further showed that the man would swim away every time the vessels would maneuver closer to him.
Personnel from Coast Guard Station Loon in Bohol took a small boat to rescue the man.
As of this writing, the man is already out of danger.
Authorities are yet to establish the reason why he jumped off ship.
