A couple and their 16-year-old daughter were killed while their 12-year-old son was injured after they were shot in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte afternoon on Monday, September 1, 2025.

The victims were residents of Cotabato City. They were riding a tricycle when they were attacked by unidentified assailants upon reaching a remote area in Barangay Nalinan.

The father who was driving the tricycle died on the spot. His wife and daughter did not reach the hospital alive while his son is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police are pursuing the suspects, as of this writing.

Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.

“Sa ngayon, unidentified pa yung suspects natin, same with the motives,” Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Jopy Ventura, said.
