A 32-year-old man died after he was shot several times by his half-brother using a high-powered firearm in Barangay Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City.
According to the victim’s live-in partner, she and the victim figured in an argument because the latter was allegedly jealous of her male companions in her business.
However, the victim continued nagging until he got into an altercation with his sister, which led the suspect to shoot him.
“Mura’g napungot na tingali sa sigeg yawyaw kay sige man og yawyaw sige man og storya-storya bitaw napungot tingali ang igsuon nga lalaki maoy nigawas dayun gipusil,” vitim’s live-in partner, Analou, said.
The victim died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) said the 41-year-old suspect had cases in the past related to illegal drugs.
“Ang atong suspetsado na-involve kini sa mga illegal nga activities sama sa illegal drugs ug naa na kini siya conviction pa niagi nga involved sa illegal drugs,” COCPO Spokesperson, Capt. Emilita Simon, said.
Authorities urged the family to convince the suspect to surrender.
“Kung mahimo ma-convince ang pamilya nga tabangan nga maka-surrender ang suspek niadtong shooting incident para mas maubsan ang kaso nga iyang atubangon,” Simon added.
