Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte has challenged the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives to investigate the Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“Yung Committee on Appropriations, it's in front of you already. Martin Romualdez' SALN in 2022 was only 200 million (pesos) ngayon 3 billion (pesos) na. It's in front of you, look at that!,” Duterte said.
Duterte claimed that Romualdez’s SALN has allegedly increased by P2 billion in just three years.
“Asa ka kita og politiko nga in 3 years, 2 billion ang gisaka sa SALN,” Duterte added.
Aside from Romualdez, Duterte also wanted Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co and other politicians investigated.
“Tan-awa ninyo ang SALN sa tanang politiko aning nasura ni then you'll have your answer that's it. Zaldy Co mga kaubanan niya na mga congressman kung paunsa niburot and how they acquire that money it's in front of your face already,” Duterte said.
Romualdez and Co have yet to issue a statement, as of this writing.
FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT
Meanwhile, Duterte responded when asked if he would heed an invitation to the ongoing investigation into flood control projects.
“Kung imbitahon ko? Naa ba diay tay ghost project? Tan-awa gud ninyong Davao naa bay nabungkag diri,” Duterte said.
Manila Rep. Benny Abante, chairman of the House Committee on Human Rights, called for an investigation into the flood control projects in Davao City, noting that the city still experiences flooding despite the reported P51 billion allocation for infrastructure, including flood control projects.
Duterte questioned why the flood control issue has been directed at the Duterte family.
“Nagsugod si Marcos daghan siya of ginganlan nga contractor, diba, marami siyang pinangalanang contractor tapos may expose na kunwari sinakyan ng mga LP (Liberal Party) tapos napunta sa amin ang istorya. Pa'no? Yung issue ng flood control projects termino niya bakit bumack track ng ano. It doesn't make sense. Gi-cooking show na pud mo. Yun nga ang sinasabi nila all roads lead to the Dutertes, Crazy,” he said.
Malacañang has yet to comment on Duterte’s statements, as of this writing.
