The right eye of a policeman in the Province of Negros Oriental was injured after a suspect who resisted arrest pierced it reportedly with a sharp object.
The suspect was about to be arrested in a hot pursuit operation at 8:10 p.m. on September 3, 2025 in Barangay Milagrosa, Santa Catalina town but he stabbed the eye of the policeman instead and jumped off the window of his house in an attempt to flee.
Earlier, the suspect stabbed reportedly a woman.
However, the 35-year-old suspect was arrested later on that evening, as other policemen chased him in the vicinity of a river where the suspect tried to hide.
The policeman is from Barangay Poblacion, Zamboanguita town, also in Negros Oriental.
