A 10-year-old boy was found dead after reportedly drowning in a river in Guagua, Pampanga, nearly 24 hours after he went missing.
Rescuers worked together to search for the child whose body was later recovered from under the river.
Based on investigation by the barangay, the boy was swimming with three friends when the incident happened. His family, however, suspects foul play and pointed to one of his companions as a suspect.
The friend denied the allegation, but the victim’s family has already filed a complaint.
Authorities said the minor will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Police declined to issue a statement while the case is under investigation.
