A 35-year-old man was gunned down in broad daylight in Barangay Graceville, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, with the crime caught on CCTV and leading to the arrest of five suspects.

The video showed the victim lying on the ground beside his motorcycle when another man approached and fired multiple shots at him. The suspect’s companion then went near the victim and shot him again at close range before fleeing with the victim’s firearm.

Police said the victim suffered at least six gunshot wounds to the head and body and died on the spot.

Ryand Paul Antimaro, investigator-on-case of San Jose del Monte Police Station, said.

Authorities first arrested a 41-year-old wounded suspect at a hospital in Sta. Maria, along with two relatives who brought him there. Police said the two were accomplices, though they denied involvement.

“Syempre dinala ko sa ospital kasi kamag-anak ko… wala akong kinalaman, wala akong alam sa nangyari,” one of them said.

Two more suspects, including the alleged lookout and the motorcycle driver, were later caught. Police recovered two loaded firearms from the group.

Investigators believe the attack was motivated by revenge, saying the victim shot allegedly at one of the suspects two weeks earlier but missed.

The five suspects face murder charges, with two also charged for violating the firearms law. Police are still pursuing one more gunman identified in the CCTV footage.
