The bloodied body of a man was found by the roadside in Barangay Manipis, upland Talisay City, Cebu early morning on Monday, September 15, 2025.

The man sustained gunshot wounds on his head. His hands were bound by a masking tape, while a piece of cloth was wrapped around his head.

A note was left near his feet which reads: “Huwag tularan,” which means “do not emulate.”

Barangay Manipis first received a report of a dead man found at dawn on September 15, 2025.

Police Lt. Col. Maila Maramag, chief of the Talisay City Police Office, said that the dead man was already identified. However, the information was withheld.

In an initial investigation, Maramag confirmed that the man is in his early 30s and that he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Slugs were recovered from the area where the body was found.

One of the angles pursued by the authorities is related to illegal drugs but the investigation is ongoing, as of this writing.

No person of interest was pinpointed yet.

Maramag further said that they have ruled out the angle on summary execution.
