Up to 160 police personnel from the Police Regional Office-SOCCSKSARGEN (PRO-12) have been deployed to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to reinforce security measures for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The send-off ceremony was held at the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office headquarters on Monday, September 15, 2025.
During the ceremony, they were given hygiene kits to ensure their health while performing election duties.
PRO-12 said the deployment was part of its continuing support to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and other partner agencies in ensuring peaceful and orderly elections, especially in election areas of concern.
PRO-12 Director, Brigadier General Arnold Ardiente, reminded the personnel to remain disciplined, impartial, and vigilant while carrying out their duties.
“We are the guardians of democracy and the shield of our people during this crucial time. Let us uphold integrity and professionalism as we fulfill our mandate to secure the BARMM Parliamentary Elections,” Ardiente said.
The Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (MDSPPO) welcomed the augmentation force from PRO-12.
MDSPPO said the 160 personnel will be deployed to the towns of Buluan, Pandag, Datu Paglas, Paglat, and Mangudadatu.
“Our safety here is our top priority. While you are here, do your job deliberately so that your safety will not be in vain. Always bear with you your prayers, as it will guide you all through your duties here in Maguindanao del Sur. Always consider your safety,” MDSPPO Director, Col. Sultan Salman Sapal, said.
