A five-year-old boy was found dead in a canal in Barangay Sta. Ana, Solsona, Ilocos Norte on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Police said the grandfather saw the boy last around 11 a.m. at their house. But when the boy’s father came home, he noticed his son was missing.
The boy’s family found the child later in a canal about a kilometer away from their home. His father believes he fell into the canal accidentally, which had strong water current.
The Municipal Health Officer declared the boy dead at the site.
Authorities said his grandfather and mother were at home at the time but did not notice when the child wandered off to the canal.
