A rider died while two others were injured in separate road accidents in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental.

A 21-year-old rider died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a trailer truck parked by the road on the national highway in Barangay Amoros, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.

Based on investigation, the truck had reportedly broken down, which was why it was parked by the road.

Police said the rider may not have noticed the truck, causing the motorcycle to crash into its back.

Authorities are awaiting the decision of the rider’s family on how they wish to proceed with the case.

Police also reminded motorists to follow traffic rules to avoid accidents.

“Dapat sundon nato, adunay kita’y mga speed limit nga atong sundon para atong malikayan ang susama nga insidente,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.

Meanwhile, two riders were injured after their respective motorcycles crashed into a pickup truck at an intersection in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

“Gikan ni sila sa traffic light, ang nahitabo ani pag-go nila paglapas sa traffic light kusog ang ilang dagan,” Navarro said.

Because of the impact, the motorcycles were pinned under the pickup truck.

The two riders were rushed to the hospital. They are already in stable condition, as of this writing.

Based on investigation, the two riders reportedly do not know each other.
