The National Bureau of Investigation has started its validation on flood control projects in Central Visayas based on allegations of massive corruption.
The NBI Central Visayas Regional Office (NBI-CEVRO) has commenced case buildup of flood mitigation structures of the national government implemented in Central Visayas.
The probe is in consonance with an order of the Department of Justice (DOJ) that shaped a Special Task Force to verify any anomalies on flood mitigation projects.
However, Atty. Rennan Augustus Oliva, NBI-CEVRO 7 director, has not provided details yet, as of this writing, but assured they will furnish members of the media a copy of their assessment as soon as this becomes available.
Verified documents will become the basis for their recommendation to the DOJ that will be used as one of various references by the Independent Commission for Infrastracture formed by the Office of the President to investigate irregularities in flood control projects, Oliva said.
Oliva added that they have received quite a number of reports on alleged anomalous flood control projects, which all require validation.
