A huge dawn fire razed houses along MacArthur Boulevard, Barangay Tejero in Cebu City on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 and affected over 300 individuals.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cebu City, with SFO3 Wendell Villanueva as spokesman, the fire broke out at about 3 a.m. and was raised to third alarm.
The fire spread quickly as most of the houses were made of light materials, Villanueva added.
The fire was controlled by 4:40 a.m.
No fatalities, or persons hurt, in the incident were reported.
In an initial assessment of the Cebu City Fire Office, houses destroyed by the fire reached a total of 15, while four are partially burnt that affected a total of 18 families or 72 individuals.
Meanwhile, based on data from the Department of Social Welfare Services (DSWS) in Cebu City at least 42 houses were destroyed with 87 families or 346 individuals affected.
According to Portia Basmayor, DSWS head, initial help was provided immediately to the fire victims such as food packs and financial assistance.
