Motorists should expect traffic congestion in Davao City on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as several downtown roads will be closed temporarily to make way for a large gathering called “Pray for the Philippines.”

The Davao City Safety and Security Cluster has prepared a security and traffic plan for the event, which is expected to draw a huge crowd.

The Davao City Council has already approved an ordinance allowing the temporary closure of several roads from 1 a.m. on September 21 to 1 a.m. on September 22.

The roads affected include Corner CM Rector and San Pedro Streets; Corner Rizal and Bolton Streets; and Corner C. Bangoy and Rizal Streets.

At least 30 traffic enforcers will be deployed to manage the traffic situation and guide motorists to alternative routes.

Up to 500 members of the Civil Security Unit under the Davao City Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) will also be deployed to secure the event.
