By virtue of a warrant of arrest for the case of murder, a 24-year-old Indian national was arrested in Roxas City, Province of Capiz.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Lovely,” is one of three persons alleged to have shot dead a pastor, identified as Douglas Jover, in Barangay Anilao, Pavia town, Province of Iloilo in January 2025.

According to the Pavia Police, alias “Lovely” went in hiding in Capiz immediately after perpetrating the crime. Monitoring took over two months before his arrest in Barangay San Jose, Roxas City evening on September 17, 2025.

“Sa imbestigasyon, isa lang itong motorcycle driver. Nag-drive lang siya ng motorsiklo nang isinagawa ang pagpatay kay pastor,” Captain Ritz Presquito, chief of Pavia Municipal Police Station, said.

A loan to the Indian nationals turned out to be the motive of the crime based on police investigation.

Two other suspects are still being tracked down. Both are also Indian nationals, police added.

“May mga lead na kami kung saan sila nagtatago at may mga tao naman kami na maaaring pagtanungan upang matulungan kami sa paghuli sa dalawa pang natitira,” Presquito added.

The suspect declined an interview.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas tried to get a reaction from the family of the victim, but no one accommodated the news team.
