A father and his son were saved from drowning in Sipalay City, Province of Negros Occidental.
Personnel from Coast Guard Station Southern Negros Occidental along with Coast Guard Sub-Station Sipalay, Special Operations Unit-SNOC, and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Sipalay rescued a policeman, found to be active in service, and his 16-year-old son.
The two were reportedly swept away by huge waves at Poblacion Beach, Barangay 5, Sipalay City on September 18, 2025.
According to the initial report, the 39-year-old policeman and his son went out swimming in the waters of Poblacion Beach, but strong waves crashed and swept them to a deep part of the sea.
The father and son were rushed to the City Health Office of Sipalay for medical attention immediately after they were rescued.
