The Department of Agriculture (DA) in Western Visayas (Region 6) is awaiting guidelines for the rollout of P20-per-kilogram rice for public school teachers.
This after Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr. announced on September 17, 2025 that public school teachers, as well as non-teaching personnel, have been included in the list of beneficiaries.
According to a statement made by Laurel, the agency has coordinated with the Department of Education on the P20-kilogram rice program for the inclusion of public school teachers and non-teaching personnel.
As of this writiing, the list of beneficiaries is being prepared for the target rollout on October 15, 2025.
Further, DA 6 has mulled on selling P20/kilogram rice to members of other sectors in the Province of Aklan beginning first week of October 2025.
