The Marusay River in Calasiao, Pangasinan, has reached alert level following continuous rains brought by Super Typhoon #NandoPH.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Calasiao said it has prepared equipment in case the situation worsens.
Residents living near the river and in flood-prone and low-lying areas have been urged to remain alert.
Some residents worry if rains continue upstream, the river could reach critical level.
"Patuloy po natin binabantayan dahil ine-expect po natin na tataas pa po ito. Ang critical level po natin ay nasa 8 ft., so bagamat hindi pa po natin ‘yan naaabot ngayon ine-expect po natin na sa susunod na mga araw ay tataas pa ‘yung ating water level at may posibilidad po na maabot natin ang ating critical level," Joy Soriano of MDRRMO-Calasiao said.
