Despite the rain, around 10,000 people joined the prayer rally in Davao City on September 21, 2025.

According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the massive gathering ended peacefully with no untoward incidents or arrests recorded.

DCPO has deployed a significant number of personnel to ensure public safety and manage security and traffic.

“DCPO extends its heartfelt thanks to all attendees and organizers for their cooperation and for ensuring the event was conducted in a safe and orderly manner,” DCPO said in a Facebook post.

“The zero-incident record for tonight’s prayer rally is a testament to the discipline of the Davaoenos and the effectiveness of our security preparations. It demonstrates that large public assemblies can be held peacefully when there is mutual respect and cooperation between the public and law enforcement,” DCPO Director, Col. Mannan Muarip, added.

What grabbed the attention of many, however, were at least 100 roasted cows and a giant cake served to protesters.

Packed meals containing roasted cow, rice, and water were distributed to participants of the “Pray for the Philippines” rally at San Pedro Square, Davao City.

Protesters also shared a 16-foot giant crocodile-shaped cake and roasted crocodile during the rally.

In a report by GMA News Online, a total of 113 people have been arrested for throwing rocks, destroying properties, and burning tires during protest action against corruption in Manila while 93 police personnel were injured.
