Floodwaters entered homes and inundated roads in Barangay Banaoaong, Mangaldan, Pangasinan on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after continuous rains brought by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon and Super Typhoon #NandoPH.

Residents said they fear the floods could rise further as heavy rains continued through the day.

“’Yung mga gamit namin sa kabila na namin itaas,” Jovita Soquilla, a resident, said.

Another resident, Fe Gotomanga, said flooding has always been difficult for them.

“Mahirap talaga, kawawa kami dito kapag ganitong baha,” she said.

The Mangaldan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) reported that several creeks had overflowed, causing flooding in low-lying areas.

“Grabe ’yung buhos ng ulan sa Mangaldan, kaya mabilis na napuno ang mga creek kaya mabilis na umapaw,” Assistant DRRM Officer Ernie Cuison said.

Some motorists were forced to drive slowly through flooded streets.

The local government has coordinated with barangay officials to respond to the needs of affected residents.
