Seven barangays in Calasiao, Pangasinan were flooded morning on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, following continuous rains.
According to the Calasiao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the affected barangays as of 9 a.m. include Ambonao, Buenlag, Bued, Longos, Talibew, Banaoang, and Lumbang. Officials warned that the number could still increase as rains continue.
“‘Pag ganitong tuloy yung ulan, madagdagan yung tubig eh may posibilidad na tatas pa,” Jophy Solis, a resident, said.
MDRRMO spokesperson Kristine Joy Soriano confirmed that more areas may be added to the list as their monitoring teams continue their rounds.
“Patuloy pong ine-expect natin na madagdagan dahil ongoing pa ang pag-iikot ng ating roving team. So far, ito yung mga low-lying areas natin,” she said.
Some schools and roads were also hit by floods. At Buenlag Central School, floodwater entered not only the compound but also hallways and classrooms.
Authorities suspended classes at all levels in Calasiao for the day. The MDRRMO assured that they are closely monitoring the situation and ready to conduct evacuations if needed.
“So ngayon po wala pa naman po tayong displaced individual sa bayan ng Calasiao at patuloy pa rin ang pakikipag-coordinate natin,” Soriano added.
