Seven crew members of a fishing vessel died after their boat capsized in Sta. Ana, Cagayan at the height of Super Typhoon #NandoPH.

Authorities confirmed that the six crew who were earlier reported missing were found dead.

Four bodies were recovered on Tueday, September 23, 2025, while the other three were found morning on Wednesday, September 24, after search operations resumed at 6 a.m.

Rescuers said some of the bodies were found in mangroves, while others were floating at sea.

The Coast Guard said the operation was difficult because the crew were trapped inside the overturned vessel. Rescuers even used a chainsaw to cut through the boat to retrieve the bodies.

The remains are now being prepared for transport to the families of the victims, who came from Cagayan, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol.
