Several sea trips have been suspended in parts of the Philippines morning on Thursday, September 25, 2025, due to the effects of #OpongPH. 

In a Facebook post, the Philippine Coast Guard District Central Visayas has ordered the temporary suspension of voyages in the following stations due to #OpongPH following PAGASA’s Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 7 morning on September 25.

  • Coast Guard Station Camotes – All types of vessels and watercrafts suspended.
  • Coast Guard Station Central Cebu – All voyages suspended in areas under TCWS; motorbancas and small fishing vessels strictly prohibited. However, vessels 35GT and above may be allowed if properly manned and compliant with safety requirements.
  • Coast Guard Station Eastern Bohol– Voyages suspended for vessels bound to affected areas under TCWS. Vessels 35GT and above bound to unaffected areas may sail with strict precautionary measures.
  • Coast Guard Station Northern CEBU – All vessels and watercrafts suspended.

Additional advisories were also issued in other regions:

  • Coast Guard Station Occidental Mindoro – Temporarily suspending voyages of all vessels and watercrafts.
  • Coast Guard Station Batangas – Temporarily suspending voyages of all vessels and watercrafts within its area of responsibility.
  • Bicol Region – The following Coast Guard Stations are temporarily suspending all voyages of vessels and watercrafts within their respective areas of responsibility: CGS Albay, CGS Masbate, CGS Catanduanes, CGS Camarines Sur, and CGS Sorsogon.

The PCG urges all shipowners, operators, and fisherfolk to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay alert for further weather and sea condition updates.

CEBU PORTS

All trips from Tabuelan Port and Gerona Private Ports in Cebu Province bound for Sagay City and Escalante City in Negros Occidental are cancelled due to possible effects of #OpongPH, based on an advisory of the Cebu Port Authority on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Other cancelled trips are:

* Cebu to Baybay/Hilongos (Leyte), Cebu to Naval (Biliran), Cebu to Baybay, Cebu to Hilongos at Pier 3, Cebu City;

* All trips from Maya Port in Daanbantayan, northern Cebu to Malapascua Isaland and vice versa, Maya Port to Matnog, Sorsogon (midnight departure time), and Maya Port to Calbayog City in Samar (midnight departure time);

* Pier 88 (Liloan) to Poro Port in Camotes Island, Cebu (2 p.m. trip).

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) has advised passengers to return to their residences while waiting for the resumption of trips.

“For everyone’s safety, staying inside port premises during inclement weather is strictly prohibited, as ports are highly vulnrable to strong winds and waves," CPA said in a post.
