Classes are suspended in some areas in Cebu Province on Thursday, September 25, 2025 due to Severe Tropical Storm "Opong." 

These areas include Madridejos (all levels), San Remigio (all levels), Bogo City (kindergarten to senior high school and Alternative Learning System, or ALS), Tabogon (all levels), Tuburan (elementary and high school), Medellin (all levels), Danao City (all levels), Danao City (all levels), Pilar (all levels), Poro (all levels), Daanbantayan (all levels), Borbon (all levels), Tabuelan (all levels), Asturias (all levels), San Francisco (all levels), Catmon (all levels), and Sogod (all levels). 

The suspension is based on state weather bureau PAGASA’s advisory on September 25, 2025 on #OpongPH.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is hoisted over the rest of Eastern Samar and the rest of Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, the northern portion of Cebu (Daanbantayan, Medellin, City of Bogo, Tabogon, San Remigio, Borbon, Sogod, Tabuelan, Catmon, Tuburan, Carmen, Danao City, Asturias, Compostela, including Camotes Island and Bantayan Island), the northern portion of Negros Occidental (City of Escalante, Toboso, Calatrava, Sagay City, Cadiz City, Manapla, City of Victorias, Enrique B. Magalona, Silay City, City of Talisay), the northern portion of Iloilo (San Dionisio, Batad, Balasan, Carles, Sara, Concepcion, Ajuy, Lemery, Barotac Viejo, San Rafael, Banate, Anilao, San Enrique, City of Passi, Bingawan, Calinog, Lambunao, Dueñas, Dingle), Capiz, Aklan, the northern and central portions of Antique (Libertad, Pandan, Sebaste, Culasi, Tibiao, Barbaza, Bugasong, Laua-An), including Caluya Islands and Calamian Islands. 

Coast Guard Stations have suspensed temporarily all trips in northern part of Cebu.
