The Department of Trade and Industry-Davao (DTI-11) seized non-compliant products worth around P3.6 million during the E-Kalasag operation in September 2025.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, members of the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau of DTI-11 confiscated more than 17,000 items, hundreds of boxes, and nearly 100 rolls of various substandard products.
These included ceramic tiles, lighters, self-ballasted LED lamps, electric fans, PVC electric tape, non-refillable LPG gas cartridges, among others.
DTI-11 explained that most of the items confiscated lacked the required Philippine Standard (PS) mark, Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker, and other necessary documents, which is a violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394), Products Standards Law (RA 4109), and Department Administrative Order No. 02, Series of 2007.
During the operation, over 400 establishments were inspected, more than 40 of which were issued with notices of violation.
DTI-11 said investigation into the seized products is ongoing, but possible charges may be filed against violators.
