A 71-year-old man was killed after a truck crashed into the motorcycle he was riding in Barangay Marilog, Davao City.
Based on investigation, the rider had just refueled and was crossing the highway toward the Bukidnon road when his motorcycle was hit by the truck traveling in the same direction.
Because of the impact, the rider was thrown off and died on the spot.
The victim’s motorcycle also caught fire as a result of the collision but the fire was extinguished quickly by responding firefighters.
The truck driver was taken into police custody and may face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
