A 23-year-old Army reservist was found dead with gunshot wounds on the national highway in Barangay Malalag, Malungon, Sarangani.
Police said that prior to the incident, the victim reportedly borrowed his friend’s motorcycle but he failed to return it later, only to be found lifeless beside the vehicle.
The victim sustained five gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
Investigators also recovered five empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene.
Police said the victim may have been shot by the person he had an argument with.
Authorities are eyeing personal grudge as motive.
“Based sa investigation and mga evidence nga nakuha namo, personal grudge. Nag-discuss pa sila, murag nag-away pa. Ana ang among nakuhang initial information,” Malungon Municipal Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Geovanni Ladeo, said.
Police have already identified a person of interest.
“So far, may person-of-interest po tayo but then di muna natin i-divulge for the integrity of the investigation,” Ladeo added.
