Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Davao City.

A 41-year-old rider died on the spot after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into a parked trailer truck in Barangay Tibungco around 5 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025.

The truck driver was taken into police custody. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

In another incident, CCTV footage showed a prime mover truck traveling on the inner lane along the Daang Maharlika Highway on Saturday, September 27.

A motorcycle attempted to overtake on the truck’s right side but was hit by the truck, causing the 33-year-old habal-habal driver and his 24-year-old female passenger to be dragged under the bigger vehicle.

The habal-habal driver died while his passenger sustained injuries.

The victims’ families and the company that owns the truck reportedly reached an agreement.

“Nagka-settle na sila and sila’y mo-shoulder, ang company mao’y mo-shoulder sa tanan expenses sa hospital ug sa damage sa motor vehicles sa victim,” Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Spokesperson, Capt. Hazel Tuazon, said.

Meanwhile, a 70-year-old man died in a hit-and-run incident along the coastal road while riding his bicycle.

The impact thew the victim off his bicycle and onto the pavement. He sustained multiple injuries and did not reach the hospital alive.

Police are still investigating the incident to identify the driver of the multicab involved.

“Panawagan nato nga kung kinsa may nakabangga atong 70 years old nga nagabike sa coastal road, kung pwede mag-surrender para dili modako pa ang iyahang salaod nga atubangon,” Tuazon added.
