The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has confirmed that a hot pursuit operation is ongoing, following a reported r@pe incident of a minor in Ginatilan town, Province of Cebu involving a police officer. 

The incident happened reportedly in Barangay San Roque, Ginatilan on September 28, 2025. 

“Initial follow-up operations in Malabuyoc, Cebu did not yield results, but pursuit efforts are continuing,” CPPO said through an official statement. 

CPPO said that upon receipt of the report, it informed immediately the director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 and recommended the relief of the policeman involved effective September 28, 2025. 

“Orders were also issued for the surrender of the service firearm and Philippine National Police identification (ID) card, while the Provincial Headquarters and Women and Children Protection Desk were tasked to assist the victim in her medical examination,” the statement added. 

To ensure accountability and security, CPPO has directed the concerned police officer to report immediately to the headquarters. It has also issued lookout bulletins to all seaports and airports, and coordinated with local authorities and the suspect’s family for his surrender.

“The Provincial Headquarters, in coordination with the Internal Affairs Service (IAS), is preparing to file both criminal and administrative cases. Security detail has likewise been provided to the victim and her family to ensure their protection and well-being,” CPPO said further. 

CPPO pointed out that the case “remains under investigation, with all information being carefully validated to guarantee accuracy, fairness, and the protection of the minor victim’s privacy.”

“The Cebu Police Provincial Office remains committed to upholding justice, accountability, and integrity. We assure the public that justice will be served,” said Police Colonel Abubakar Udang Mangelen Jr., officer in charge of CPPO.
