A magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolted San Vicente, Northern Samar at 6:21 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The quake is tectonic in origin at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Aftershocks are expected, PHIVOLCS indicated in its advisory.
