Damages to infrastructure caused by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that jolted northern Cebu were estimated to have reached P2 billion based on initial assessment.
According to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, the figure is seen to rise as assessment in the entire province is ongoing.
Clearing of national roads in northern Cebu is going on, as of Friday, October 2, 2025.
Dizon ordered a 24-hour duty for the clearing of affected roads in a visit in Bogo City on October 1, 2025.
Despite a declaration of the DPWH Central Visayas that the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge is safe hours after the shaking late evening on September 30, 2025, Dizon ordered a thorough assessment on bridges in the entire province.
Meanwhile, Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco vowed help to at least 15 local tourists stranded in Cebu because of the disaster.
Frasco assured assistance to 711 workers in the tourism sector affected by the tremor.
DOT received reports that at least 80 tourism-related businesses, including hotels in Cebu City, sustained major damages.
