An afternoon fire razed at least 400 houses in Barangay 21-C Piapi Boulevard in Davao City.
The fire on October 2, 2025 was raised to fourth alarm and was put out by 7:27 p.m.
"Dako kaayo og damage - sobra 400 ka balay ang naigo. Salamat kaayo sa daling tabang nga nadawat sa mga residente," said Barangay Captain Joenard Gabrillo.
The families affected were given initial aid by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
Acting Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte checked on the survivors personally.
He assured that the survivors will get financial aid and food provision until they can start building their lives back.
The Bureau of Fire Protection is yet to determine the cause of the fire as investigation into the incident continues, as of this writing.
The office of Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte also sent help.
