Typhoon #PaoloPH made landfall in Dinapigue, Isabela on Friday morning, bringing strong winds and heavy rains to Northern Luzon.

The state weather bureau said Paolo reached typhoon strength as it hit land at around 10 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 215 km/h. It was moving west-northwest at 25 km/h, with winds stretching outward up to 350 kilometers from its center.

Paolo is expected to cross Northern Luzon today and emerge over the West Philippine Sea by tonight. It may weaken slightly while crossing land but could re-intensify once it exits into open waters.

PAGASA warned of possible storm surges reaching up to three meters along coastal areas of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Ilocos, and Zambales. Rough to very rough seas are also expected, making sea travel dangerous for all types of vessels.

Authorities advised residents in high-risk areas to follow evacuation orders and take all necessary precautions.
