Strong winds and heavy rain from Tropical Storm Paolo battered parts of Isabela and Cagayan Valley on Friday, October 3, 2025.
In Ilagan City, Isabela, an acacia tree fell along the road in Barangay Malalam, while road signs were damaged in Barangay Alibagu. Authorities are now closely monitoring rivers in the region due to continuous rainfall.
The water level in the Pinacanauan River in Ilagan and the Cagayan River in Tuguegarao City rose quickly, raising fears of overflow. Residents living near rivers were advised to take precautions.
Farmers rushed to harvest palay and corn before the storm, but heavy rains still soaked piles of crops left along the roadside in Barangay Cataggaman, Tuguegarao City, and Barangay Maligaya, Tumauini, Isabela.
Flooding also hit parts of Macapagal Boulevard in Tuguegarao City, causing difficulties for motorists. Drivers were reminded to stay alert and practice extra caution on the roads.
