A 31-year-old student was arrested after authorities found more than P3.7 million worth of suspected shabu strapped around his waist at a checkpoint in Toril, Davao City.

According to the Task Force Davao, the suspect was about to enter the scanner area when officers noticed a small sachet of suspected shabu fall to the ground as he placed his bag in the baggage X-ray machine.

Checkpoint officers observed that the suspect appeared visibly nervous, prompting them to call in the police personnel assigned in the area.

Upon further inspection, authorities discovered several sachets of suspected shabu strapped tightly around the suspect’s waist using the garter of his shorts.

Up to 12 sachets of suspected shabu worth nearly P3.8 million were confiscated from the suspect.

The suspect will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
