A 61-year-old man wanted for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter was arrested in a manhunt operation in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant for rape issued by a court in General Santos City on June 11, 2021.

CIDG said the accused was listed as one of the most wanted persons in the Philippines with a P135,000 reward for his arrest.

Based on reports, the accused allegedly raped his daughter at their house in General Santos City on August 15, 2020.

After the arrest warrant was issued, he reportedly fled the city and went into hiding in towns across Davao Oriental.

“It underscores our commitment in protecting women and children of this nation. Sa pagkahuli natin sa akusado, tayo ay nakatulong sa kawawang batang biktima na makamit niya ang hustisya sa pang-aabusong naranasan niya sa kamay ng kanyang sariling ama,” CIDG Acting Director, Brigadier General Robert Morico II, said.

“As CIDG, we cannot just let alleged sexual abusers and rapists- most especially accused of incest rape of minors, roam around freely, lurking like predators waiting for their preys,” Morico added.
