Two men who allegedly robbed a gasoline station were killed after engaging responding police officers in an exchange of fire in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.

According to the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13), the suspects identified as alias “Kris” and “Jay” allegedly robbed a gasoline station on Saturday, October 4, 2025, and fled on board a motorcycle without a license plate.

Police officers responded immediately and pursued the fleeing suspects.

Upon reaching Barangay Lucac, the suspects allegedly opened fire, hitting the windshield of the police vehicle. The operatives returned fire and killed Kris.

The next day, the operating team conducted a follow-up operation in Barangay Tagapua and engaged the other suspect in another shootout.

The suspect sustained a gunshot wound and was brought to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities recovered from the suspects a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .357 revolver, several rounds of ammunition, nearly P10,000 in cash, and the motorcycle used in the robbery.

Investigators also learned that Jay had a standing arrest warrant for frustrated murder issued in June 2025.

“The quick response and coordination among our police units display our readiness to act decisively against criminal elements. I urge the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station,” PRO-13 Director, Brigadier General Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV, said.
