A man in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur was arrested for allegedly uploading online an image of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. with the caption “headshot.”
Members of the National Bureau of Investigation-Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) arrested the man for allegedly inciting to sedition under Article 142 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act (RA 10175).
NBI said the arrest stemmed from what it described as a malicious Facebook post.
The post reportedly gained attention on social media after it showed Marcos’ image with a red arrow overlay and the caption “headshot.”
Mayroon pong arrow sa ulo ni President at may caption na headshot,” the NBI agent on the case said.
The uploader was identified through cyber patrolling and investigation conducted by the NBI.
NBI-CCD operatives went to Pagadian City on October 6, 2025 to conduct surveillance and hot pursuit operation, together with agents from the NBI Pagadian District Office.
The suspect was brought to the NBI-CCD Office in Pasay City.
The suspect said he has no intention to kill the President.
The suspect asked for forgiveness.
NBI urged the public to use social media responsibly and avoid posting malicious content.
