Two police officers were arrested in separate entrapment operations in Davao City for alleged involvement in illegal firearm activities, illegal drugs, and robbery-extortion activities.
Personnel of the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) arrested a policeman identified as alias “Mohamad,” assigned to RMFB14 BAR, and a civilian identified as alias “James” for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591).
PRO-11 said the operation, carried out on Roxas Avenue, Davao City around 4:50 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, stemmed from intelligence reports about the suspects’ alleged illegal firearm activities.
Seized from the suspects were several firearms, including caliber 5.56 M4 rifles, caliber .45 and 9mm pistols, magazines with ammunition, and a vehicle.
“This operation reflects our continuing commitment to the PNP’s internal cleansing program and our unwavering effort to maintain professionalism and integrity within the organization,” PRO-11 Director, Brigadier General Joseph Arguelles, said.
Meanwhile, another policeman in Davao City was arrested in an entrapment operation after he was reported to have been involved in extortion and illegal drug activities.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) identified the suspect as alias “Wang,” an active police officer assigned to the 1st City Mobile Force Company (CMFC).
DCPO operatives launched the operation after validating intelligence reports.
During the operation, the suspect was allegedly caught in possession of a sachet of suspected shabu weighing around four grams, which he allegedly received from the complainant.
The suspect was taken into police custody and will face charges for robbery-extortion and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
He will also face administrative complaints for conduct unbecoming of a police officer and grave misconduct, offenses that carry the penalty of dismissal from the service.
“This incident serves as a clear manifestation of the PNP’s Integrity Agenda — that no one is above the law, and that any member found violating it will be held accountable, regardless of rank or position. The Davao City Police Office remains steadfast in its conviction that discipline must begin within the organization, thereby ensuring that public trust in the police service is preserved and strengthened,” DCPO said.
