Police arrested a man in Angeles City after discovering firearms, ammunition, and suspected illegal drugs during a raid on his home conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Authorities served a search warrant at the residence of the suspect, identified only as alias Weng, following reports that he was selling illegal firearms to various individuals, including those allegedly involved in robberies and other crimes.
During the search, operatives recovered several firearms, bullets, and gun accessories, as well as multiple sachets of suspected shabu valued at more than P400,000.
The CIDG said the suspect has a long criminal record.
“Last March 2023, naaresto siya dahil sa carnapping. Noong 2010, nasentensyahan siya ng 17 taon ng pagkakakulong. 2018 siya nakalaya mula sa New Bilibid Prison. Ngayon, haharap siya sa paglabag sa Firearms and Ammunition Act,” Police Major Domingo Resma of CIDG Angeles City said.
The suspect is now in CIDG custody and faces multiple charges, including illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and drugs.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify others possibly involved in the illegal sale of firearms.
