Authorities uprooted and burned an estimated P6.3 million worth of marijuana plants in separate eradication operations in Benguet province on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Police said the two-hour operation covered two plantation sites in Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, where around 31,800 fully grown marijuana plants were destroyed. No cultivator was arrested during the operation.

In a separate operation last October 10, authorities also destroyed around 1,600 marijuana plants worth about P324,000 in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet.

Investigations are ongoing to identify those behind the illegal plantations.

Meanwhile, two men were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in the Cordillera region.

A 31-year-old man was caught in Barangay Lower Magsaysay, Baguio City, with about P60,000 worth of suspected shabu. Police identified him as a street-level individual.

In Lagawe, Ifugao, a 41-year-old man was also arrested in a buy-bust operation. Authorities seized suspected shabu worth around P3,000.

Both suspects are now facing drug-related charges.
