A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte at 4:31 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The tectonic quake, with a depth of 10 kilometers, was located about 13 kilometers northwest of Pagudpud.
Instrumental intensities recorded:
- Intensity II – Bacarra, Ilocos Norte
- Intensity I – Claveria, Cagayan; San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte; Sinait and City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur
The tremor occurred shortly after a magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck the same area around 4:14 p.m.
No damage or aftershocks are expected.
