A courier company has turned over two parcels containing alleged dried marijuana leaves to authorities in General Santos City.
Police said the employees became suspicious after noticing a strong odor resembling that of dried tobacco.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the parcels contained around 500 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth more than P150,000.
Authorities said the parcels were shipped by a certain alias “Jansha” who allegedly refused to allow courier staff to open the packages when they were declared as containing motor accessories.
Based on investigation, one of the packages were supposed to be shipped to Bunawan, Agusan del Sur while the other was bound for Tuba-Tuba, Palawan.
Police are tracking the sender, as of this writing.
