Fire razed three classrooms in Daanbantayan, northern Cebu.
The fire broke out dawn on October 19, 2025 and destroyed three classrooms at the Bagong Lipunan Building of Daanbantayan Central School.
The incident occurred at about 4 a.m.
A video taken by Alejandro Aregglo of the said school's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, who was among the first to respond to the fire alarm, showed of the classrooms on fire.
The Bagong Lipunan Building is among structures of the said school that sustained major cracks when the magnitude 6.9 offshore earthquake rocked Cebu late night on September 30, 2025.
Aregglo said that during their inspection after the deadly quake, he made sure that appliances were unplugged.
The Daanbantayan Fire Station received the alarm at 4:42 a.m. and controlled the blaze in about eight minutes, stopping the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
A fire-out was declared by 5:20 a.m.
The fire left behind damages worth approximately P1.8 million.
No casualty was reported, no one was injured in the incident.
As of this writing, investigation is ongoing to establish the definite cause of the fire incident.
