Another two employees of the Mandaue City Hall have been investigated for allegedly defalcating government funds.
Aside from the cash clerk who was earlier ordered dismissed for alleged anomalous spending of P3.3 million, two other employees of the Mandaue City Treasurers Office have been investigated for money issues.
“Separate individuals, separate acts ang usa, accordingly, dili pa detalyado gyud nag-tamper og receipts para ma-justify o di makit-an ang pagkuha og kwarta. Ang usa direct gyud, way tamper-tamper, gibutang sa iyang bulsa nakit-an sa camera,” said Atty. Gonzalo Malig-on, Mandaue City administrator.
The decision on the case of the cash clerk who purportedly misappropriated government money is for the administrative case only, he added.
”Ang administrative case diri ra man sa city gi-resolve, lahi man ang required nga evidence compared sa criminal cases nga proof beyond reasonable doubt… gi-prepare na na ang charges in due time i-file na na ang criminal charges,” Malig-on pointed out.
Amid the issue at the City Treasurer’s Office, the Local Government Unit has assured the public that steps are taken to pad further embezzlement of funds.
“Naay buhaton, in fact mag-involve pa gali sa system gyud, system itself, dili lang tawo i-move, ang supervisor nga i-suspend, naay deeper pa nga pangbuhaton… ang amo gikahadlokan ba kung dugay na ni ug daghan ang na-involve, how much the city had lost mao na amo, maong anxious mi ana that’s why we’re going now to the system itself,” Malig-on said further.
