Workers in SOCCSKSARGEN are set to receive a P30 to P33 increase in their minimum wage.
This after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) of the Department of Labor and Employment-SOCCSKSARGEN (DOLE-12) approved the wage increase for workers in the private sector in the region.
The P30 wage increase is for the non-agriculture and retail and service sectors. This means that the minimum wage in these sectors will now be P460 per day from P430.
On the other hand, the daily minimum wage rate for the agriculture sector will increase by P33. It means that from P410 daily minimum wage, it will now become P443 per day.
The wage increases will be implemented in two tranches, with the second tranche set for release on December 15.
DOLE-12 added that the wage increase aims to help workers cope with inflation, transportation expenses, food prices, and other basic household needs.
