The Social Security System (SSS) said more areas in the Davao Region may be included in its calamity loan program.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, Mona Lorraine Tombo, regional communications officer of SSS Mindanao South 1 Division, said the calamity loan is available to qualified members whose homes were damaged by recent calamities and who reside or work in areas officially declared under a state of calamity.
Based on information from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), areas currently under a state of calamity include Mati City and the towns of Tarragona, Manay, Caraga, Baganga, Cateel, Boston, Lupon, Banaybanay, San Isidro, and Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental.
Tombo added that the list may expand once the NDRRMC identifies more localities that declare a state of calamity.
However, only members who live or work in affected areas are eligible to apply.
Qualified members can borrow up to P20,000 under the calamity loan program.
SSS assured that the processing of loan applications will be fast and convenient as the applications are processed online through the SSS website.
