The homicide case filed against a patient in Alimodian, Iloilo who attacked hospital employees, watchers, and fellow patients has been elevated to murder based on the decision of the prosecutor.

The patient killed an 80-year-old woman admitted at Aleosan District Hospital and hurt other persons past 6 p.m. on October 21, 2025.

Police Captain Chrysler John Ledesma, chief of Alimodian Municipal Police Station, in an interview with GMA Super Radyo Iloilo, said that the case was elevated from homicide to murder during the filing on October 22, 2025.

Ledesma said there is no medical record yet that supports the suspect is “mentally unstable.”

However, Ledesma said, it depends on the court to decide on the next action should mental instability be established.

As of this writing, personnel of the Alimodian Police have coordinated with four other victims who sustained wounds when the suspect went berserk and bashed them with an intravenous (IV) stand.
